Projects
Web Design & Development
New Blues Festival (newbluesfestival.com)
Client: New Blues Festival | Date: 01/2019 - 02/2019
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) A redesigned website for a music festival. This build progressed relatively smoothly and quickly. Navy blue and gray are such a calming and nice color scheme, which made this design a lot easier to do overall.
New England Sports for
Women (nesfw.org)
Client: NE Sports for Women | Date: 10/2018 - 02/2019
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) Growing up playing soccer made me really eager to work on this project. The clients needed a website to raise funds for their new facility, designed and aimed at promoting women's sports. This was a tad tough to work on, but I learned a lot from this project!
Starlight Mountain Theatre (starlightmt.com)
Client: Starlight Mountain Theatre | Date: 10/2018 - 11/2018
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) One of my favorite builds at Vendini, this was based off of our White Label Ticketline design by request of the customer.
The Center for Humanities
and Arts (charts.uaptc.edu)
Client: Pulaski Technical College | Date: 06/2018 - 08/2018
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) A university needed a new website for their humanities and arts program following their switch to our platform for ticketing. That's where I stepped in. There was a lot of texture in this project meant to mimic the footer of their university website while also adding a more "artsy" feel.
Historic Jayhawk Theatre
(jayhawktheatre.org)
Client: Historic Jayhawk Theatre | Date: 08/2017 - 10/2017
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) A historic theatre looking for funding to rebuild, that's what was presented to me with this project. Thus, the design had to be easy on the eyes with a touch of that historic flaire.
The Vox (voxmarshfield.com)
Client: The Vox | Date: 02/2017 - 09/2017
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) Actual time spent on this project was a LOT less than the duration of time, but I had to wait on the client for materials and to launch the website. In the end I really like the light, airy feel.
Premiere Stages (premierestagesatkean.com)
Client: Kean University | Date: 01/2017 - 05/2017
(Designed while employeed at Vendini.) This was a labor intensive project that a lot of love went into. For this project I collaborated with a lovely individual at the organization. I worked off her mock-ups to design, build, and ultimately finish this website.
Looped-In (areyoulooped.in)
Client: PXT Payments | Date: 11/2014 - 10/2015
Tasked with creating an entirely new website from scratch within less than a month, I work with a team to design, code, and test. Website impliments HTML5, CSS3, JQuery, MySQL/databases, and PHP to create a smooth user experience. Project was on-going up until it completely ceased.
Personal Website Revamp
Client: Personal Project | Date: 06/2014 - Present
After neglecting the very things that got me into going to college for web design, I finally decided to start revamping my personal hobby websites. Because of how much busier my life's gotten I decided to code the website from scratch then add WordPress functionality to make updating easier. The first attempt at a revamp was less than appealing, but this version is improved by a landslide. The newly converted blog ended up being sugary sweet just like candy with smooth PHP, CSS3, and HTML5 effects.
The Yogurt Bar
Client: College Class (WEB4580) | Date: 12/2014
Based on a local business close to home, this JQuery mobile website was designed with customers in mind and kept as simple as possible. It features a flavors and toppings page, PHP form for easy ordering if the user doesn't want to call-in, a map, and notifications to keep users up-to-date on what flavors are in-stock and the like. A mini blog was also added to allow for news updates and customer interaction.
Poetry Express
Client: College Class (WEB4580) | Date: 11/2014
The midterm project for this particular class turned out to be a simple responsive website coded completely by hand with HTML5 and CSS3. The final version focuses on poetry review and utilizes CSS3's effects to create a smooth-looking website with easy-to-read font chosen specifically for some accessibility. It was intentionally coded in a way to allow for easy database integration if needed.
brittHREF.com First Attempt
Client: College Class (WEB2350) | Date: 06/2014
Tasked with creating individual test websites for WordPress, Joomla, and Drupal, I decided to tackle the mess of trying for an early version of what is now my portfolio website. Simplicity and ease-of-use were the main goals, as well as making sure functionality was in place. The end result was a small, yet working portfolio built for and running Joomla.
Rick Jones Piano UX Reworking
Client: College Class (GWD3900) | Date: 11/2013-12/2013
From start to finish. We were each tasked to pick a website drastically in need of a revamp. The catch was that rather than simply redesigning we had to turn the website into something entirely with the user in mind, which meant implementing the skills we learned involving information architecture and user experience. The focus was of course on those, however design came next. We utilized card sorting, heuristic analysis, personas, a design brief, and prototyping software (Axure) to design a semi-functional high fidelity prototype.
Excessively Irrational
Client: College Class (SSC2220) | Date: 06/2013
For the final project of my second psychology course in college, I ended up going down a different route than most other students. I chose to create a website based on the subject matter and ended up liking the project more than expected so I kept it online. The result is a crash-course on Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) featuring a page with my own experiences. Hoping to someday turn this into a more active project.
